2023-24 Premier League: Week 27 – Fulham vs Brighton

Fulham meet Brighton & Hove Albion at Craven Cottage in a huge clash in the race for European qualification.

Victory will see Fulham stay 12th in the table but potentially closer towards those battling for an Europa Conference League qualification spot.

Brighton meanwhile will stay seventh with a win and move to within two points of sixth-placed Manchester United, with Erik Ten Hag’s Red Devils not playing until Sunday.

Harrison Reed is available for Fulham after having undergone percautionary checks on a head injury, which he suffered during their win at Manchester United.

Willian (knock) is also in contention but Joao Palhinha (suspension) and Raul Jimenez (calf) remain absent.

Brighton could welcome Evan Ferguson (ankle) and Joel Veltman (unspecified) back into contention, after the pair sat out their FA Cup defeat at Wolves in midweek.

Jack Hinshelwood (foot), Kaoru Mitoma (back), James Milner (thigh), Joao Pedro (hamstring), Billy Gilmour (suspension) and Solly March (knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Fulham host Brighton at Craven Cottage at 3pm GMT on Saturday 2 March, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Fulham are unbeaten in seven Premier League meetings against Brighton (W3, D4).
  • Brighton are yet to win away at Fulham in the Premier League (D1, L2).
  • Ex Fulham striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic scored three goals in two of their last three home games against Brighton.
  • No Fulham player has made a last man tackle in the Premier League this season.
  • Brighton’s Pascal Gross has produced the most assists for an non-English player in the Premier League this season, having created 10 assists in 24 appearances.

Prediction

Currently sat on the cusp of the battle for that Europa Conference League spot, Fulham really need to start making hay if they want to get stuck right into that scrap especially after a brilliant performance at Utd where they really could of claimed a bigger win if been more clinical.

Brighton meanwhile were again frustrating to watch at Wolves just like they were against Everton in the league last weekend, because they just lacked that clinical touch despite their dominance and an early goalkeeping error proved costly.

Fulham though haven’t exactly shone at home lately but I do expect them to snatch a draw given Brighton’s difficulties in converting their chances.

Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Brighton

Result: Fulham 3-0 Brighton
