Sheffield Wednesday resume their battle for Championship survival against play-off chasing Watford at Hillsborough.
Victory would see Sheffield Wednesday stay second-bottom but move to within three points of safety, whilst Watford can go seventh with a win, unless can win by a nine-goal margin or more which would see the Hornets move up to sixth.

Stat Attack
- Sheffield Wednesday are winless in their last six league meetings against Watford (D2, L4).
- Watford are unbeaten in four of their last six league visits to Sheffield Wednesday (W3, D1, L2).
- Sheffield Wednesday have kept one clean sheet in their last five home matches against Watford, which came in a 0-0 draw in September 2020.
- Sheffield Wednesday’s top goalscorer, Anthony Musaba has scored four of his five goals in all competitions at home this season.
- Watford are unbeaten in their last six away matches in the Championship (W4, D2).
Prediction
Although January has proven a tricky month for Danny Rohl’s Owls against play-off chasing teams, they really need to just keep playing lik they’ve done in attack but just tighten up defensively if want to start getting more wins.
Watford meanwhile did well to keep a dominant Southampton team at bay for much of their FA Cup tie after having taken an early lead, yet they can’t let their heads drop because they’re in great form despite no clean sheets since mid-November.
Now if both teams can bring their best attacking game then I can see this being closer than some might think, yet Watford should really have enough for the win.
Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Watford
Result: Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Watford
