Austrian-British driver, Charlie Wurz has completed Jenzer’s driver line-up for the 2024 F3 season.
Wurz will graduate into the series from EuroFormula, where he took one win and four further podium finishes en-route to sixth in the standings whilst he also competed in FRECA after he won the Formula Regional Oceania Championship in early 2023.
The 18 year-old went on to drive for Jenzer in the 2023 Macau Grand Prix where he finished 11th in the Qualifying Race, before damage from an accident ended his main race prematurely.
Wurz previously won 2022 F4 UAE title before he went on to take one win en-route to fourth in that season’s Italian F4, whilst he finished seventh in ADAC F4.
Speaking about his move into F3, Wurz commented: “I am thrilled to be racing with Jenzer Motorsport for the 2024 FIA F3 season. I feel confident and comfortable having a team with such high motivation behind me. I can’t wait to get started in Bahrain in a few weeks time.”
Team Principal, Andreas Jenzer added that Wurz’s “pure fuel and passion” runs in his blood, as the son of three-time F1 podium finisher, Alexander Wurz.
Jenzer proceeded to praise Wurz for his efforts in the 2023 F3 post-season tests and in Macau, as he continued: “The FIA F3 official test days we did together at the end of 2023 as well as how he was able to shine in the demanding FIA F3 Macau World Cup event was very positive.
“Let’s push together to achieve great results and bring the Jenzer Motorsport car – featuring the new livery – once more to the front.”
Wurz will partner Max Esterson and Matias Zagazeta at Jenzer, whilst MP Motorsport, ART GP and PHM Racing are yet to announce the final drivers of their line-up for the new season.
