Burnley midfielder, Scott Twine has made a loan switch from Hull City to Bristol City for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
Twine spent the first half of the season on loan at Hull where he contributed four goals and three assists in 26 appearances, before Burnley opted to recall him to Turf Moor but the Clarets have now sent the 24 year-old on loan to Bristol City for the remainder of the campaign.
Liam Manning’s Robins though have an option-to-buy clause in this loan deal which they can activate in the summer, should Twine impress club officials to earn a permanent transfer across the second half of this season.
This move also sees Twine reunited with Manning who previously managed the midfielder during their time together at MK Dons, during which they reached the 2021-22 League One Play-Offs prior to Twine’s move to Turf Moor.
Speaking about his loan move to Ashton Gate, Twine commented: “As a team I’d like to finish as high as possible in the table and personally I want to score and create as many goals as I can.”
Manning added: “I’m delighted to be able to bring Scott to the club, he’s a fantastic person and exactly the type of player we need.”
Twine is ineligible to make his debut in Bristol City’s FA Cup Third Round replay at home to West Ham tomorrow (16 January), but could make his debut against Watford on Saturday 20 January in a 3pm GMT kick-off at Ashton Gate.
Twine began his career at his hometown club, Swindon Town, during which he had two loan spells at Chippenham Town alongside loan stints at Waterford and Newport County, before he spent 2021-22 season at MK Dons where he scored 20 goals in 50 appearances.
