Jenzer has signed Mathias Zagazeta for the 2024 F3 season.
Zagazeta drove for Jenzer at the 2023 Macau Grand Prix where he finished 17th, having spent the last two seasons in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA).
Across his time in FRECA, Zagazeta claimed 12 points and will now step up to F3, where Team Principal, Andreas Jenzer believes that the 20 year-old faces a tough test despite his “big passion and strong motivation.”
“It takes a big heart to step up to the third highest level of motorsport, and we are happy that Matias will be at the steering wheel of one of our FIA F3 racing machines this season.”
Zagazeta meanwhile is “delighted” to graduate into F3 which he described as “an incredible opportunity” to progress his racing development.
The 20 year-old also acknowledged that working with the team in Macau has allowed him to understand the challenges ahead this season.
“Working already with the team during testing and the Macau Grand Prix helped us understand the position we are in and get to know the team. I am excited to see what next year will bring and we will work hard to achieve some memorable results together.”
Zagazeta will partner two drivers who are yet to be confirmed by Jenzer for the new season.
