Van Amersfoort Racing have signed Sophia Florsch to complete their 2024 F3 driver line-up.
Florsch drove for PHM Racing by Charouz this season on her return to F3 after a two-year absence, and finished 23rd in the standings with six points, which were scored in a dramatic Belgian Feature Race in tricky conditions.
The 23 year-old Alpine junior who hails from Grunwald, Munich, Germany though has decided to switch to Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) for the 2024 F3 season, where she will partner Noel Leon and the returning Tommy Smith.
Florsch also drove for VAR alongside her new teammates in the 2023 Macau Grand Prix where she finished in 11th position as the highest-placed driver within the team.
“I am super excited to be back with Van Amersfoort Racing, it feels like coming home.” commented Florsch.
“I have confidence in our ability to progress and deliver strong performances together in the upcoming FIA F3 season.”
VAR Team Principal, Frits Van Amersfoort added: “Obviously we are very pleased to have Sophia back with us. We did Macau together this year which has been great. We believe that her experience in FIA F3 plus her familiarity with the team can benefit us next season.”
