Leonardo Fornaroli will stay with Trident for the 2024 F3 season.

Fornaroli graduated into F3 this season with Trident and claimed three podium finishes which included second place in Monaco Sprint and British Feature Races, plus a third-placed finish in the Spanish Sprint Race en-route to 11th in the standings.

The 18 year-old Italian also claimed pole position for the British Feature Race but missed out on a maiden victory to his London-born teammate, Oliver Goethe in an one-two finish for Trident.

Speaking about his decision to stay in F3 with Trident, Fornaroli commented: “I am very happy to be able to stay at Trident Motorsport for another season. The team has become my second family and a place where I have found the highest motorsport culture.

“It’s a great place for me because Trident Motorsport has shown me that they are one of the best teams for a young driver in FIA Formula 3, and I intend to make the most of the opportunity I’ve been given.”

Trident Team Manager, Giacomo Ricci added that the team “are very pleased” to retain Fornaroli as their first confirmed driver for next season, which marks Fornaroli’s third season with the team after he drove for them in FRECA in 2022.

Ricci believes that this decision also confirmed that Trident and Fornaroli has “… a partnership that works very well and that sets increasingly ambitious goals.

“Last season Fornaroli was among the best rookies in the category and showed off with solid performances and constant growth.”

Looking ahead to next season, Ricci iterated that Fornaroli will be expected to fight for the title as he explained: “For 2024, Leonardo’s goal is to raise the bar and compete at the top of the category.”

Trident will announce the rest of their driver line-up for the 2024 F3 season in due course.
