Trident have confirmed that Santiago Ramos completes their driver line-up for 2024 F3 season.
Ramos finished 11th in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) for Racing Performance Motorsport this season, during which he claimed just one podium – third place in the first race of the Hungary round.
The 19 year-old Mexican eventually recorded nine top-ten finishes in total including his sole podium finish and will now step up to F3 with Trident for 2024, where he will partner Leonardo Fornaroli and Sami Meguetounif.
Ramos also drove for Trident in the F3 post-season tests at Jerez, Barcelona and Imola, in which he managed 407 laps in total.
Speaking about his decision to step up to F3 after two seasons in FRECA, Ramos commented: “So happy to announce that I’m joining Trident Motorsport for the FIA F3 championship!
“Working closely with them during post-season testing has been fantastic. I’m excited about this new chapter, ready to give it my all, and looking forward to making every race weekend a memorable experience.”
Trident Team Manager, Giacomo Ricci added: “It is with extreme delight and confidence that we welcome a young prospect like Santiago Ramos to our line-up.
“We are looking forward to doing a great job with him, and we think we have all the necessary resources to allow him to improve and make his way through the motorsport ladder.”
Ricci also spoke of Trident’s confidence to invest in rookies who are yet to show their full potential as he concluded: “We like to invest in rookie drivers, who have yet to express their full talent. I am convinced that, together with Santiago, we will achieve our goals as in the team’s tradition.”
