Guide to the draw for UEFA Euro 2024 which takes place in Germany next summer.

Italy enter this round as reigning champions but will face tough competition to retain their crown as England seek to dethrone their rivals and seek revenge for a heartbreaking defeat at UEFA Euro 2020.

Spain, France, Netherlands and Portugal will also be amongst hot favourites whilst Scotland and Turkey head those who will look to spring shocks at the tournament.

Wales meanwhile could feature in the tournament if they win Qualifying Play-Off Path A.

Now, here is a guide to everything that you need to know about the UEFA Euro 2024 draw.

When is UEFA Euro 2024 Draw?

The draw for UEFA Euro 2024 will take place on Saturday 2 December at 6pm CET (5pm UK Time), at Elbphiliharmonie, Hamburg, Germany.

How Many Teams will be in the Draw?

21 teams will definitely be involved in the draw allocated across four pots, with those who are in the Qualifying Play-Offs automatically assigned to Pot Four under the title of ‘Play Off Winner A/B/C’ depending upon which play-off path they are in.

As tournament hosts, Germany have been allocated Pot One alongside the five highest-scoring group winners (excluding the last-placed teams in those Qualifying groups involving six teams), meaning that Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium and England are also in Pot One.

The five other group winners (Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Denmark & Albania) have been allocated to Pot Two alongside the best group runner-up (Austria), with the group runners-up ranked 2-7 have been put in Pot Three (Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia & Czech Republic).

Reigning champions, Italy have landed in Pot Four along with Serbia and Switzerland due to being the three lowest-ranked group runners-up, with the trio joined in that pot by those who have qualified for the Quaifying Play-Offs.
