2023-24 Premier League: Week 11 – Luton vs Liverpool

Relegation battling Luton Town face title-chasing Liverpool at Kenilworth Road.

Victory or a draw would lift Luton out of the relegation zone, whilst Liverpool can go second with a win until at least Monday evening.

Mads Andersen, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Dan Potts (all hamstring), Reece Burke (thigh) and Jordan Clark (ankle) remain absent.

Liverpool could be without Luis Diaz for personal reason, with manager – Jurgen Klopp keen to let the Colombian himself decide if he wants to feature in this match or not.

Prediction

Having been defensively outclassed by Aston Villa’s powerful attack last weekend, Luton have to use that experience as a base to tighten up and build upon because I do feel that they will find themselves defending a lot again here so finishing their chances will be absolutely vital.

Liverpool meanwhile weren’t exactly at their vintage best against Nottingham Forest nor Bournemouth in the league and Carabao Cup last weekend, yet they dug deep with clinical finishing proving the difference but this game should be one that they can dominate if gain control early.

In fact, I can’t help but feel that unless Luton deliver a disciplined defensive display amidst Thomas Kaminski’s recent solid goalkeeping performances, this game might be one where minimising their defeat could be important come end of season.

Prediction: Luton 0-3 Liverpool

Result: Luton 1-1 Liverpool
