2023-24 Sky Bet Championship: Week 13 Roundup

Roundup of the latest Sky Bet Championship action as Leicester and Ipswich continue to head the pack.

James Justin’s 12th minute winner saw Leicester stay top of the table with a narrow home victory over Sunderland.

Ipswich remain second after Nathan Broadhead struck a 16th minute winner away at Bristol City.

Leeds remain third despite losing 1-0 at Stoke as Pascal Struijk deflected in an 80th minute own-goal from a ball rebounding off the crossbar.

Ched Evans’ injury-time own goal rescued fifth-placed Southampton a 2-2 draw at fourth-placed Preston, after Milutin Osmajic and Brad Potts had put the Lilywhites ahead following Kyle Walker-Peters’ curled opener for the Saints.

West Brom rounded out the top six with second-half goals from Brandon Thomas-Asante and Grady Diangana after Jimmy Dunne had been red carded for QPR.

Down in the relegation zone, Lee Peltier and Oliver Rathbone both scored in the second half as Rotherham defeated Coventry 2-0 to move up to third bottom above QPR.

Sheffield Wednesday remain rock-bottom following a 3-0 loss away to Plymouth as Mustapha Bundu and Morgan Whittaker netted late in the first half, and Ryan Hardie sealed Argyle’s win in the 76th minute.

Huddersfield sit just above the drop with a five-point gap despite losing 4-0 at home to Cardiff, as Callum Robinson, Dimitrios Goutas, Yakou Meite and Perry Ng netted for the Bluebirds.

Elsewhere, Liam Delap and Jaden Philogene netted for Hull in a 2-0 away win at Birmingham City.

Second half goals from Sam Greenwood and Samuel Silvera saw Middlesbrough beat Norwich 2-1 at Carrow Road, despite Jonathan Rowe’s late consolatory strike for the Canaries.

Comeback goals from Joe Rankin-Costello and Callum Brittain saw Blackburn fight back to win 2-1 at Millwall, having conceded a third minute opening goal to Wes Harding’s header.

Finally, Ken Sema’s 82nd minute 20-yard strike saw Watford snatch victory at Swansea in a tight contest.
