Joao Palhinha and Harrison Reed have committed their futures to Fulham with fresh contracts.

Palhinha had been the subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer with West Ham and Bayern Munich reportedly amongst interested clubs, yet Fulham couldn’t agree a deal to allow Palhinha to leave.

The Portuguese midfielder has subsequently signed a five-year contract until June 2028 with option for the club to extend by a further 12 months.

Speaking to FFCtv about his decision to commit his future to the club, Palhinha commented: “I feel happy. A lot of history happened these few weeks for me, you heard a lot of things about my future, but I’m just focused on my work at Fulham.

Palhinha also iterated that he is absolutely committed to giving everything to Fulham fans as he explained: “I always have 100 per cent commitment with this Club, I have all the respect for the Club, for the fans.

“Since the first day, they supported me a lot, and me and my family felt this since the first moment that I arrived here.

“I will give everything that I have. It was always like that, on the field, outside of the field, in our dressing room with my teammates.

“I have a lot of respect for everyone here in Fulham and I am ready to start again, to give all my best, and I want to achieve good things.”

Vice-Chairman and Director of Football Operations, Tony Khan added that he is “happy” to retain Palhinha after extensive speculation over the midfielder’s future.

Khan went on to praise Palhinha for his impact in 13 months at the club, as he said: “We all know what a fantastic player he is and that his contribution to the team has been immense. I’m very appreciative of how hard João fights for us on the pitch, and pleased that we’ve agreed to a new contract.”

Reed to Stay

Having scored three goals in 140 appearances since he initially joined on loan from Southampton in August 2019 before making his move permanent a year later, Reed has signed a fresh four-year contract until June 2027 with Fulham holding a 12-month contract extension option.

In an interview with FFCtv, Reed explained that he felt “buzzing” to sign his new contract, having expressed his desire to bosses that his future lies at the club with the feeling that their “ambition aligned with mine,” after a tenth-placed league finish last season.

Khan added that Reed “is an important part of our squad, he’s been with us for years, and he’s become instrumental on the pitch, and an important member of the Fulham family off the pitch.”
