Midfielder, Josh Cullen has signed a new three-year contract at Burnley until June 2026.

Cullen joined Burnley from Belgium’s RSC Anderlecht last summer which reunited him with manager, Vincent Kompany who had previously managed the Belgian club under which Cullen played for the ex Manchester City defender.

Speaking to www.burnleyfootballclub.co.uk about his decision to extend his stay until June 2026, Cullen commented: “I’m really happy to extend my time here, especially off the back of last year which was a really successful year for the Club. I can’t wait to continue my career with Burnley.”

Burnley weren’t in action this weekend after their Premier League trip to Luton was postponed due to ongoing rennovation work at Kenilworth Road.

The Clarets will return to Premier League action at home to Aston Villa on Sunday 27 August in a 2pm BST kick-off.

Looking ahead to that clash, Cullen is hoping to get that first win of the season as he added: “It will be great to get back to Turf Moor this weekend and be in front of the fans again and hopefully get our first three points on the board.”

Cullen has scored one goal and contributed four assists in 51 appearances for Burnley across all competitions, which came in a 1-0 away win at Stoke last season in December 2022 en-route to eventual promotion from the Championship.
