EFL have announced the ball numbers for the Second Round draw of 2023-24 Carabao Cup.

This round will see the 12 Premier League teams not in European action this season make their entrance into this season’s tournament.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur feature amongst those top-flight teams involved in the second round and have been both placed in the Southern Section, and will ocupy ball numbers 4 and 18 respectively.

Gillingham will also feature in the Southern Section draw as ball number 8 after they stunned last season’s semi-finalists, Southampton in a 3-1 win.

Stevenage will be ball number 15 in that half of the draw after the League One club defeated current Championship leaders, Watford on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Across in the Northern Section draw, Crewe Alexandra will be ball number 6 after they clinched a surprise win away to Sunderland on penalties, having been held to a 1-1 draw despite having led 1-0 at half-time.

Doncaster Rovers will feature as ball number 7 after George Miller’s brace handed the League Two club a shock comeback win at Hull.

Wrexham have been handed ball number 22 in the draw after edging past Wigan on penalties, having held them to a goalless draw.

Newly-promoted Burnley and Sheffield United will be ball numbers 5 and 17 respectively following their return to the top-flight, whilst Luton likewise will be ball number 9 but in the Southern Section.

Last season’s semi-finalists, Nottingham Forest will be ball number 13 in the draw.

The draw will take place live on Sky Sports following the conclusion of Burton’s First Round tie against Leicester tonight (9 August).
