Roundup of a huge matchweek as the title and automatic promotion were sealed, whilst battles for play-off spots and survival continued to throw surprises.
Burnley entered this matchweek with two chances to wrap up the title, whilst Sheffield United knew that one more victory would see them secure the second and last automatic promotion spot.
Several teams meanwhile continued to battle hard for a play-off spot or their second-tier status in the fight for survival.
Now, here is a roundup of all the action across a busy matchweek which included three rearranged fixtures.
Weekend

Chris Martin’s 87th minute winner condemned Burnley to a shock first home defeat of the season in a 2-1 loss to QPR at Turf Moor, after the Clarets’ Manuel Benson had cancelled out Sam Field’s 58th minute opening goal.
Second-placed Sheffield United weren’t in league action as they instead exited the FA Cup following a 3-0 loss against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium, London, which meant that their trip to relegation battling Huddersfield was postponed.
Third-placed Luton moved four points clear of fourth-placed Middlesbrough after Carlton Morris struck a 67th minute from the penalty spot to complete a 2-1 comeback home win, in which Tom Lockyer’s header cancelled out Cameron Archer’s goal.
Gustavo Hamer’s 54th minute strike sealed a 2-1 victory for Coventry at home to third-bottom Reading, who had equalised through Lucas Joao to cancel out Matty Godden’s first-half goal.
Dennis Cirkin’s second-half brace saw Sunderland come from behind to defeat West Brom and climb to sixth, after John Swift’s controversial penalty had given the Baggies a half-time lead.

Down in the relegation zone, Thelo Aasgaard’s 84th minute winner saw rock-bottom Wigan stun play-off chasing Millwall 2-1 at DW Stadium, after the Lions’ George Saville had cancelled out Will Keane’s 14th minute rebound opener.
Second-bottom Blackpool moved to within three points of safety after Ian Poveda swept in a 74th minute winner to beat Birmingham City at St Andrew’s.

Elsewhere, Dominic Hyam’s injury-time own-goal saw Preston snatch a 1-1 draw at home to fellow play-off rivals, Blackburn who had led through Sammie Szmodics’ 81st minute strike.
Swansea reignited their late charge for a play-off spot with their fourth consecutive win which saw them stun Norwich 3-0 at Carrow Road, as Joel Latibeaudiere and Liam Cullen headed in from Ryan Manning’s first-half assists before Olivier Ntcham sealed victory after Sam McCallum was sent off for the Canaries.
Andreas Weimann clinched his 50th goal for Bristol City as he swept in an injury-time winner to beat Rotherham 2-1 at Ashton Gate, after Jordan Hugill’s penalty for the visitors had cancelled out Tommy Conway’s header.
Ozan Tufan’s 25th minute penalty proved enough for Hull to defeat Watford at the MKM Stadium, which all but mathematically ended the Hornets’ play-off dreams.
Sory Kaba’s 29th minute goal cancelled out Josh Laurent’s 16th minute header as Cardiff held Stoke in a scrappy 1-1 draw, although Kaba saw a second-half penalty saved.
Midweek

Manuel Benson’s 66th minute winner saw Burnley defeat Blackburn in the East Lancashire derby to clinch this season’s Championship title.
Second-half goals from Sander Berge and Anel Ahmedhodzic saw Sheffield Utd defeat West Brom 2-0 to wrap up their promotion to the Premier League, albeit as runners-up which ends a two-season absence from the top-tier.
Finally, Cardiff moved six points clear of the drop after Cedric Kipre struck a 87th minute winner at Rotherham, after Kion Etete’s opener had been cancelled out by the Millers’ Chiedozie Ogbene.
