2022-23 Premier League: Week 32 – Leicester vs Wolves

Leicester City meet Wolves at King Power Stadium in a huge Midlands derby encounter in the race for Premier League survival.

Victory would see Leicester climb out of the relegation zone if Everton and Nottingham Forest both fail to win elsewhere.

Wolves meanwhile can move up to 12th if Crystal Palace loses elsewhere.

Defender, Jonny Evans is a doubt for Leicester after he missed training due to a viral infection.

Harvey Barnes (hamstring) is unlikely to be risked in this game ahead of the Foxes’ midweek clash against Leeds.

Jannik Vestergaard (calf) is ruled out for remainder of the season.

Ricardo Pereira (hamstring), Ryan Bertrand (knee) and James Justin (Achilles) remain absent.

Wolves will welcome Jonny and Ruben Neves back into contention following completion of their suspensions.

Diego Costa (knock) and Boubacar Traore (groin) are doubtful but Chiquinho and Sasa Kalajdzic (both knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Prediction

Although last weekend’s trip to Manchester City was an impossible task for Leicester, it would of been an eye-opener for manager, Dean Smith as to how to sort out the Foxes’ leaky defence which will be imperative if they want to stay up after suffering defeat at the Etihad Stadium.

Smith though will be buoyed by how his Foxes improved their attacking intensity throughout the game, especially in terms of how they were competitive in the second half and snatched a deserved consolatory goal.

Wolves meanwhile seem to have finally found their groove with a dominant if resilient defensive performance in their win over Brentford, during which they clinically took their chances unlike the Bees to now move onto the verge of safety.

Leicester though are starting a season-defining run of three games in nine days against relegation rivals with Leeds and Everton to come, so it is critical that they get something from this game especially if Everton and Forest win elsewhere otherwise they’re in deep trouble.

Wolves however will have Neves back in midfield but Leicester have been a hoodoo on the road so I do expect this game to be tough, but a draw would be a good result for the visitors whereas Leicester must realistically win so I expect the Foxes to come out and dig deep for three points at home.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Wolves

Result: Leicester 2-1 Wolves
