2022-23 Sky Bet Championship: Week 34 – Tuesday

Luton Town welcome Millwall to Kenilworth Road in a blockbuster rearranged Sky Bet Championship clash.

Both Luton and Millwall enter this match locked on 53 points and a +8 goal difference with the visiting Lions ahead on goals scored, meaning that victory would lift either team up to fourth.

Tom Lockyer is set to return for Luton after he was suspended for their away win at Birmingham City last weekend.

Fred Onyedinma and Cauley Woodrow meanwhile are amongst a few players looking for a recall to the starting line-up, having been benched in the Hatters’ victory at Birmingham.

Millwall could welcome Oliver Burke back into contention after he missed their win at Stoke due to illness.

Billy Mitchell, Mason Bennett (ankle), Tyler Burey (hip) and Callum Styles (quad) all remain absent.

When is Kick-off?

Luton host Millwall at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday 28 February at 8pm GMT live on Sky Sports in the UK, after their original meeting in mid-December was postponed due to snow.

Prediction

With both teams locked level on points and goal difference, it is harder to see any rearranged Championship clash this season proving bigger than this one with both teams knowing that a win could potentially put them closer towards a play-off spot.

Luton though will be buoyant by a strong win at Birmingham City where their sloppy end product finally didn’t cost them a win, having snatched a clinical three points with a brilliant header from Carlton Morris amidst excellent defending throughout.

Millwall though were again just as good defensively yet have recently shown that they can be fast starters, as proved by their early match winner at Stoke which suggests that this game could well boil down to marginal differences.

I am therefore not expecting a thriller because if both teams replicate their performances against Birmingham and Stoke respectively, it is hard to not see both teams cancelling each other out so a draw might be the best guess.

Prediction: Luton 1-1 Millwall

Result: Luton 2-2 Millwall
