Guide to Fifth Round draw in 2022-23 FA Cup, featuring timings, ball numbers and more.

With the Fourth Round approaching its close – aside from replays, attention now turns towards the Fifth Round so here is a guide to everything that you need to know about the draw from timings to ball numbers and more.

 

When is the Fifth Round Draw?

The Fifth Round draw will take place on BBC One on Monday 30 January, as part of that evening’s edition of The One Show which commences at 7pm GMT.

 

How Many Teams Are In The Draw?

Due to six ties needing replays plus Derby’s clash against West Ham taking place post-draw, 23 teams in total will be involved in the Fifth Round draw.

Teams to Watch Out For

Non League’s Wrexham will be the biggest team to watch out for in the draw after they were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw at home against Sheffield United, with both teams sharing ball number 3.

Manchester City have been handed ball number 12 after Nathan Ake’s winner saw Pep Guardiola’s Citizens eliminate Arsenal in a blockbuster Fourth Round tie.

Brighton & Hove Albion will be ball number 14 after Kaoru Mitoma’s injury-time winner saw the Seagulls knock out title holders, Liverpool.

Sunderland and Fulham will share ball number 15 after the pair played out a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage.

2020-21 FA Cup winners, Leicester City will be ball number 10 after Kelechi Iheanacho produced a lucky strike to defeat Walsall in a Midlands derby.

 

When Will Fifth Round Ties Be Played?

Fifth Round ties will be played in the week commencing Monday 27 February, with majority of ties set to be played across Tuesday 28 February – Thursday 2 March, with the winning teams all collecting £225,000 from the competition’s prize fund.

There will be no replays in the Fifth Round as is now tradition, with extra time and then potentially penalties instead utilised if scores are level at end of normal time.
