Jenzer have signed Alejandro Garcia as their first driver for 2023 FIA F3 season.

Garcia previously drove for Jenzer during the 2022 FIA F3 Post-Season Test in September where he was slowest across all three days of testing at Circuito de Jerez, Jerez, Spain, despite managing 174 laps in total.

Jenzer nevertheless have signed the 19 year-old Mexican as their first driver for the new season, which sees him graduate from EuroFormula where he claimed one podium – third place in second race at Monza – en route to seventh in the championship.

Speaking about his decision to step up with Jenzer to F3, Garcia stated that he is “very pleased” to make the move, as he looks to progress his “development as a driver to achieve good results throughout the season,” which he is aware will prove “challenging” and “a steep learning curve.”

Jenzer Team Principal, Andreas Jenzer added that Garcia is set for “a big challenge” which will be “hard” for the rookie in this “ultra competitive environment”, in a team which has finished ninth in each of last three seasons and failed to score a single podium finish in 2022.

Garcia is yet to take a race victory in single-seater racing but has claimed six podiums in total across three of six different categories in which he has raced, since he made his debut in 2018-19 NACAM Formula 4 Championship.
