Midfielder, Tyler Morton has signed a new long-term contract at Liverpool.

Morton is currently enjoying a season-long loan at Blackburn Rovers in which he has made 28 appearances in all competitions, during which he has now agreed a new long-term contract at his parent club, Liverpool.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com about his decision to extend his contract with Liverpool, Morton said: “I’m absolutely buzzing. The little dream is coming true, so I couldn’t be happier.

“I’ve known for a little while and it’s been ongoing, and I couldn’t wait to get it over the line because this is the place I want to be and this is the club I want to be at. I’m absolutely buzzing and I can’t wait for the future.”

Morton also reflected on his successful loan spell at Blackburn so far with Rovers sat third in the Sky Bet Championship, as he admitted that he feels “extremely proud” of how he has handled the first half of the season, as he vowes to “carry that on and take it into the next half of the season.”

On the chance to play regularly and learn under manager – Jon Dahl Tomasson, the 20 year-old midfielder added: “I feel like I’m progressing every day and learning new things on and off the pitch.

“It’s a lovely environment to learn and turn myself into a professional – and I think I’m doing that quite well. Hopefully it sets me up for what’s to come in the future.”

Morton also described “physicality” as his biggest improvement during his time at Ewood Park after facing questions throughout his youth career, due to his “stature”, as he vowed that the answer is to enjoy his football and “get smashed about and just enjoy the rough side of the game.”

Last season saw Morton make nine senior appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, including against Arsenal in Premier League plus FC Porto and AC Milan in UEFA Champions League.
