Premier League have confirmed referee schedules ahead of the competition’s festive return to action.
With 30 matches spread across three matchweeks being played over 10 days between 26 December 2022 – 5 January, Andy Madley is the only referee in action across all three rounds of fixtures; beginning with Fulham’s visit to London rivals, Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Boxing Day.
He will then head to the Etihad on New Year’s Eve to take charge of Manchester City’s clash against Everton, before heading back to London on 3 January to take charge of Arsenal’s home game against Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium in a top-three clash.
Other highlights include David Coote taking charge of the first match on the Premier League’s return from the World Cup break, which sees Brentford meet Tottenham in a London derby at 12:30pm GMT on Boxing Day live on Amazon Prime – alongside entirety of matchweek 17 fixtures.
Anthony Taylor will referee the final top-flight match to be played in 2022 as Arsenal visit Brighton at the AMEX Stadium in a 5:30pm GMT kick-off on New Year’s Eve.
Tottenham will host Aston Villa in North London in the first top-flight fixture of 2023 on New Year’s Day at 2pm GMT, with John Brooks confirmed as the referee of that encounter.
Paul Tierney meanwhile will be the man in charge for Chelsea’s home match against Man City on 5 January, which brings the curtain down on this season’s festive period of Premier League football.
