Guide to 2022 Austrian Grand Prix as F1 heads 988.2 miles from Silverstone to Red Bull Ring, Spielberg, Austria for the latest round of the 2022 season.
Following a classic British GP, F1 now heads to Austria for Red Bull’s home race where they will be looking to bounce back on home soil with victory, in order to reassert their dominance at the top of the championship as Max Verstappen continues to head Sergio Perez.
Ferrari however will be looking to continue recent improvements as they seek to reignite their title challenge, whilst Mercedes look to reduce their deficit further and create a three-team fight for victory.
This weekend however sees the return of a format tweak last seen in Imola, so here is everything that you need to know ahead of the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix weekend.

Five Key Pointers
- Coming into their home race, Red Bull will be eager to deliver a strong home performance but will need to improve their Qualifying pace in dry-weather conditions which has seen Ferrari dominate.
- Cooler weather than usually seen in recent visits could well be of benefit to Mercedes who have struggled in hot conditions at the Red Bull Ring in recent seasons.
- Located at 677 metres above sea level, the Red Bull Ring will pose issues in terms of temperature management of brakes and power units which could mean reliability playing a part this weekend.
- With plenty of overtaking opportunities available on a weekend which features Sprint Qualifying, there is opportunity for tyre strategies to potentially prove crucial to results for several teams.
- Weather can prove unpredictable at times and with prospect of rain affecting FP1 but dry for Qualifying, we could see a mixed up grid if any teams get their set-ups wrong.

2021 again like in 2020 saw F1 race twice at Red Bull Ring due to pandemic-related cancellations of other races, with Max Verstappen cruising to victory in both Styrian and Austrian Grands Prix en route to his controversial maiden title.
