West Ham United have announced that four first-team players will depart the club upon the expiry of their contracts in June 2022.
Mark Noble who has spent his entire senior career at the Hammers will officially retire upon expiry of his contract, with the midfielder having produced 62 goals and 61 assists in 550 appearances across all competitions in a 18-year spell at the club.
Noble’s departure comes after he announced in March 2021 that he would retire at the end of this season.
Ukraine’s Andriy Yarmolenko will also depart after four-seasons in East London which have been largely affected by injuries, although he did manage to deliver 13 goals and seven assists in 86 appearances.
Yarmolenko perhaps will be best remembered by West Ham supporters for his winning goal in their second-leg comeback at home to Sevilla in the Round of 16 in this season’s Europa League, just days after he scored against Aston Villa on his return from personal leave.
Right-back, Ryan Fredericks will leave after managing three goals and six assists in 77 senior appearances since joining the Hammers in 2018.
David Martin will leave his boyhood club after three seasons following his switch from Millwall, as he went on to only make five appearances which all came in his first season with the Hammers, including a memorable debut in a narrow 1-0 win over Chelsea.
Development player, Nathan Holland has been released after spending the season on loan at Oxford United, where he netted six goals in 39 appearances, although he did manage four first-team appearances for the Hammers over the years.
Bernardo Rosa, Jayden Fevrier, Amadou Diallo and Ossama Ashley will also be released in late June alongside with scholar, Isaac Evans.
West Ham issued the following statement on their decision to release 10 players: “West Ham United would like to thank all those players departing for their hard work and commitment during their careers in Claret and Blue and wish them the very best for their future careers.”
