Forward, Elijah Adebayo has joined Bristol City on a free transfer.

Adebayo’s move comes after he was released from Luton in June after six seasons in which he scored 47 goals in 184 appearances, and helped the Hatters claim promotion to the Premier League via the 2023 Championship Play-Offs.

The 28-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract until June 2028 and will wear the number 45 shirt, plus is excited to get his time at Ashton Gate underway.

“I can’t wait to get started. The place has a feel-good factor and it has been easy for me to settle in.

“The gaffer has been very clear with what he wants from us and how to attack the season so that is a big reason why I wanted to join.

“I will try and use my experience to push the group and get everyone going in the same direction.”

Bristol City manager, Michael Skubala added: “We know what a good player Elijah is and he gives us something different going forward. We have all got to know him in pre-season and we are excited to have him as part of the group.”

Adebayo began his career at Fulham but failed to make a single first-team appearance amidst loans at Slough Town, Bognor Regis Town, Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town and Stevenage, before he joined Walsall in summer 2019 and went on to net 18 goals in 65 appearances for the Saddlers in two seasons.
