Enzo Trulli Joins Carlin For 2022 F3 Season

Enzo Trulli has signed for Carlin as he graduates to Formula 3 for 2022 F3 Season.

Trulli graduated to single-seater racing in 2021 where he enjoyed instant success as he claimed four wins and nine other podium finishes, en route to the 2021 F4 UAE title in his debut single-seater competition.

The 16 year-old Italian then stepped up to EuroFormula with Drivex School, where a consistent first-half of the season saw him secure a mid-season move to Carlin during which he collected three consecutive third-placed finishes despite a dip in consistency.

Reflecting on the opportunity to step up to F3 with pre-season testing getting underway tomorrow (2 March), Trulli described the move as a “great pleasure” on top of remaining within Carlin’s environment.

Trulli though iterated that he isn’t expecting high success this season as he added: “Of course, it’s going to be a learning season for me, considering the limited experience I have and the limited mileage available in the car.

“Yet, I’m ready to work hard and to support the team’s work and progress, in order to bring Carlin on the top of the F3 list. It is such a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to starting the learning process!”

Carlin Racing Director, Trevor Carlin meanwhile praised Trulli for his “remarkable start” to single-seater racing, during which the Italian impressed in EuroFormula despite having “extremely limited experience.”

Carlin also echoed Trulli’s thoughts about what fans can expect this season as he continued: “This season will be massive learning curve for him.

FIA F3 is a hugely competitive series and a huge ask for a driver in only their second season of racing. Enzo needs to focus on learning and taking something from each weekend.  We are thrilled to be working with him and look forward to helping him progress with each race.”

Enzo is also the son of Jarno Trulli who raced in F1 for 15 seasons between 1997-2011, during which he clinched just one race victory – 2004 Monaco Grand Prix.

Trulli will partner Zak O’Sullivan and Brad Benavides in an all rookie line-up at Carlin this season.
