Thomas Frank has signed a new three-year contract to remain Brentford manager until end of 2024-25 season.

Frank first joined the Bees as Assistant Manager to Dean Smith in December 2016, before finding himself promoted to his current Head Coach role following Smith’s exit in October 2018.

Having guided Brentford to 11th place at end of 2018-19 season, Frank proceeded to take the Bees to the Championship Play-Off Final in the following two seasons, where they first lost to Fulham 2-1 in extra time in August 2020.

Frank’s Bees eventually went one step further last season with a 2-0 victory over Swansea in the Play-Off Final, which saw the Bees clinch promotion to the Premier League for the first time.

In their first Premier League campaign under Frank, Brentford currently sit 14th despite winning just one of their last seven league games but has enjoyed some memorable matches from an opening win at home over Arsenal to a 3-3 thriller at Newcastle.

Frank’s Assistant Head Coach, Brian Riemer has also signed a new contract which also sees him stay with the Bees until summer 2025.

Brentford’s Director of Football, Phil Giles spoke highly of both Frank and Reimer and the decision to award them with new contracts, as he said: “On behalf of everyone at Brentford, I’d like to congratulate Thomas and Brian on their new contracts.

“First and foremost, they are fantastic people to work with and I’m sure everyone at the Club will be pleased that they have committed to stay with us until 2025.”

Giles went on to hail both Frank and Reimer as “integral to the success” that Brentford have enjoyed in recent season, from two Carabao Cup runs in the last two seasons to achieving promotion to England’s top flight for the first time since 1946-47 season.

Looking ahead to the club’s future targets under Frank’s reign, Giles commented: “We want to continue to take Brentford forward, to compete with clubs far bigger than us, and to see how far we can progress.

“I am sure that we can build on the success that Thomas and Brian have helped deliver along with all of the other staff and players and look forward to what I hope will be a successful conclusion to the season and beyond.”
