2021-22 Premier League: Week 12 – Burnley vs Crystal Palace

Burnley seek to continue their fight against relegation as Sean Dyche’s Clarets welcome Crystal Palace to Turf Moor.

Burnley can climb out of the relegation zone with victory regardless of what Watford and Aston Villa do elsewhere, whilst Palace can move up to sixth with a win depending on results elsewhere swinging in their favour.

Aaron Lennon could be available for Burnley after missing their 1-1 draw at Chelsea two weeks ago through illness.

Ashley Barnes (knock) is a doubt but Dale Stephens remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

Crystal Palace could be without Joachim Andersen after the Danish defender was released from international duty with an unspecified injury.

Will Hughes (back) is a doubt but Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson (fitness) are unlikely to be risked until match fit.

Prediction

Although it has been a slow start to the season for Burnley, Sean Dyche certainly does know how to keep his Clarets in the game because they were outplayed at Chelsea last time out, yet stuck in defensively and were able to capitalise with more intensity in the closing stages to snatch a deserved draw.

Palace meanwhile have found form in recent weeks and have won their last two matches by 2-0 results with an aggressive pressing style of play, although clinical finishing proved the difference last time out against Wolves in a scrappy contest.

That fight though should stand Palace in good stead because I can see Burnley again going defensive but they should get more attacking opportunities here, although the key factor could be how the Clarets handle Palace’s aggressive pressing.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Crystal Palace

Result: Burnley 3-3 Crystal Palace
