Norwich Sign Milot Rashica From Werder Bremen For Undisclosed Fee

Norwich City have announced that Kosovo international, Milot Rashica has signed for the club from Bundesliga’s Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee.

Rashica’s move to Norwich comes after Werder Bremen were relegated from the Bundesliga last month and brings the 24 year-old’s four season spell in Germany to an end, having scored 27 goals in 100 appearances across all competitions.

Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Rashica spoke of feeling “excited” to make the move to Norwich and play in the Premier League, with the Canaries set to start their 2021-22 season against Liverpool on Saturday 14 August at Carrow Road.

Rashica also vowed to “of course give my best to this football club in every game and hope to excite the fans with many goals and assists.”

The Kosovo international midfielder also confirmed that he is aware of Daniel Farke’s style of play but is keen “to continue to learn and develop as a player and person”, whilst adding that he expects Farke’s style to “suit me very well.”

Rashica meanwhile described the chance to play in the Premier League as “a dream” of his and is “so happy” to finally receive his chance with Norwich, although this move also provides him with the opportunity to move closer to some family members who are based in London.

Manager, Daniel Farke meanwhile described Rashica as “a very interesting player” capable of “quick and smart” moves as well as creating chances, often finding himself linked with various top clubs in recent seasons.

Farke also spoke of his desire to see Rashica add extra quality and “improve our offensive game” after only managing 26 goals in their 2019-20 Premier League campaign.

Noting Rashica’s “versatile” abilities to play in various positions from winger to strike or in the number ten role, Farke concluded by expressing his delight at having secured “a quality player” for this season.

Rashica’s arrival comes after Emiliano Buendia departed the club a fortnight ago in a club record deal of £33m to join Aston Villa.
