Jenzer have announced that Johnathan Hoggard will replace Pierre-Louis Chovet for the remainder of 2021 Formula Three season, following sudden financial difficulties for the Frenchman.
Chovet took to Twitter just before 6pm BST UK time to announce with ‘regret’ that his F3 campaign was over after his main investor ‘unilaterally decided to throw in the towell and withdraw’ his support for the 19 year-old.
This announcement therefore means that Chovet won’t get to race in his home round as F3 visits Circuit Paul Ricard next weekend, as the main support series to the F1 French Grand Prix, which left the youngster feeling ‘great despair’ at missing out on participating in events at his home circuit.

Hoggard therefore has been drafted in as Chovet’s replacement for the remainder of this season with the 20 year-old remarking that this opportunity ‘was unexpected’ yet swift after having “… worked for this opportunity for years and I will give my best from Paul Ricard on.”
Team Principal, Andreas Jenzer meanwhile added: “Getting a new driver on board after all official tests and the first round over is always challenging but we trust Johnathan to be fully involved and dedicated to catch this opportunity.”
Hoggard previously drove for Jenzer in the first post-season test at end of 2020 but didn’t return for pre-season and the opening round in Barcelona last month.
