Pierre-Louis Chovet Replaces Laszlo Toth at Campos for F3 French Round

Campos Racing have announced that Pierre-Louis Chovet will race for the team in Formula Three’s French round this weekend, replacing Laszlo Toth who has tested positive for Coronavirus.

F3 confirmed yesterday (16 June) that Toth had tested positive for Coronavirus ‘during mandatory pre-race PCR testing’ ahead of the second round in France this weekend.

Toth is now in self-isolation in adherence to Coronavirus protocols plus ‘public health authority guidelines,’ and will consequently miss the latest round at Circuit Paul Ricard, France.

It was also clarified that no other Campos team member was affected by Toth’s positive test, meaning that all team members except for the Hungarian driver will be able to participate in the weekend.

Chovet will therefore step into Toth’s seat after having received the call-up on Tuesday evening (15 June) and upon confirmation of his drive, said: “I’m ready and really honored to join Campos Racing for my “Home GP”. It’s a great opportunity in my position as you can imagine: I’m ready to work alongside the team and give everything on track!

The 19 year-old has also wished Toth ‘a quick recovery’ and vowed to take care of his Campos this weekend.

Chovet had participated in the opening round in Spain last month for Jenzer but sudden financial difficulties forced him to step down, with Johnathan Hoggard replacing him at the Swiss outfit.
