Hal Robson-Kanu is amongst 21 players to have been released by West Bromwich Albion ahead of the 2021-22 season.
Robson-Kanu first arrived at the Hawthorns in August 2016 after enjoying a successful run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 with Wales, with the Welsh striker going on to enjoy a spell of 24 goals in 154 appearances across all competitions for the Baggies.
Charlie Austin has also been released after spending the second half of 2020-21 season on loan at QPR, in which he netted eight goals in 21 appearances.
Branislav Ivanovic, Lee Peltier, Kamil Grosicki, Kyle Edwards and Andy Lonergan have also been released out of those within the first-team squad, with the Baggies opting not to renew their contracts.
West Brom also confirmed that the following 14 players have also been released at end of their contracts; Zak Brown, Nick Clayton-Phillips, Cheikh Diaby, Tyrese Dyce, George Harmon, Sam French, Tom Sharpe, Tom Solanke, Finley Thorndike, Aksum White, Harry Williams, Vinnie Dwyer, Jamie Emery and Ryan Grant.
The club have publicly placed on record their thanks to all players leaving The Hawthorns for their efforts and wish them all well in their future endeavours on and off the pitch.
West Brom have meanwhile offered new contracts to Finn Azaz, Zak Delaney, Toby King and Owen Windsor, whilst also activating an option to renew Ted Cann’s contract.
Ten youth players at Under-18 level have been offered their first-ever professional contracts, including; Jamie Andrews, Zac Ashworth, Maks Boruc, Mo Faal, Tom Fellows, Ethan Ingram, Tim Iroegbunam, Jovan Malcolm, Aurio Teixeira and Caleb Taylor.
West Brom now await the unveiling of 2021-22 season fixtures on Thursday 24 June at 9am, whilst continuing their search for a new manager following Sam Allardyce’s departure after losing at Leeds in their final game of 2020-21 season as the West-Midlands club return to the Sky Bet Championship following relegation.
