Tottenham Hotspur have announced that 13 players will be released upon expiry of their contracts including first team players, Paulo Gazzaniga and Danny Rose.
Gazzaniga’s departure comes after the goalkeeper made 37 appearances for Spurs in all competitions since arriving in August 2007 from Southampton, before joining La Liga’s Elche on loan in February 2021 after failing to feature for the North London club this season.
Danny Rose will also depart Spurs upon expiry of his contract after spending 14 years at the club since arriving in July 2017, going on to score ten goals in 214 appearances before being snubbed throughout this season by Jose Mourinho and then Ryan Mason.
Rose’s last competitive appearances came at end of last season on loan at Newcastle United in which he made 11 appearances for the Magpies.
Nine players within Spurs’ Development Squad will also be released upon expiry of their contracts next month, including Kazaiah Sterling who made two senior appearances for the club against APOEL in UEFA Champions League in December and in a 2-0 Fourth Round defeat at Crystal Palace in 2018-19 FA Cup.
Other released development players include; Enock Asante, Chay Cooper, Keenan Ferguson, George Marsh, Rodel Richards, Jack Roles, Aaron Skinner and Shilow Tracey.
Tottenham also confirmed that Under-18 players, Eddie Carrington and Tarrelle Whittaker have also been released upon the conclusion of their scholarships.
The club has also stated their well wishes for all departing players and in particularly thanked Gazzaniga and Rose for their services to the first-team squad.
