“The fans have always been good to me. I always played my heart out for them.”
On the club’s direction after claiming their second trophy in five seasons, Morgan described Leicester’s rise as ‘unbelievable’, commenting; “It’s unbelievable. It’s a fantastic club, we’ve got great owners, we’ve got great management and we’ve got great players, so the future is very bright.”
Leicester Chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha paid tribute to Morgan by hailing as one of the club’s ‘greatest servants’ for his commitment and contribution to helping the Foxes move forward towards further success.
Srivaddhanaprabha though is keen to see Leicester help Morgan plan for his future off the pitch, adding; “I’m excited to see how we can help him shape his career after football and how the Club can continue to benefit from his experience, knowledge and passion for the game.”
Fuchs meanwhile has decided to depart due to personal reasons after five seasons at Leicester in which he was part of Leicester’s Premier League title-winning team in 2015-16 season, coincidentally his first campaign at the club.
Admitting that he had underestimated his expectations of Leicester in expecting relegation scraps instead of battles for European football, Fuchs was delighted to be confirm that he will reflect on this period “… without any regrets.”
The 35 year-old fullback also paid tribute to his wife, Raluca Gold-Fuchs for having the patience to share him with Leicester despite living in New York, which is where he is set to head to once possible to do so due to international travel restrictions.
Reflecting on living away from his family and children, Fuchs said; “Honestly, it’s been very tough over such a big distance with children and everything.
“I don’t really want to say goodbye, but on the same side, I’m looking forward to finally being a normal father with my family, to spend some time with them and to see my kids grow up.”
Morgan and Fuchs could both feature for the final time on Sunday 23 May as Leicester host Tottenham in their last league game of this season, with the Foxes chasing a top four finish in front of a small gathering of home supporters.
