Leicester City welcome West Bromwich Albion to the King Power Stadium in Thursday Night Football from the Premier League.
Victory will see Leicester stay third but move four points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea, whereas West Brom can move to within six points of safety with a win.
Team News
Ricardo Pereira is a doubt for Leicester after suffering tightness in his calf during Sunday’s FA Cup win over Southampton.
Harvey Barnes and James Justin remain ruled out with knee injuries.
West Brom remains without Branislav Ivanovic after suffering a hamstring injury earlier this month.
Stat Attack
- Leicester have lost just one of their last eight league meetings against West Brom (W5, D2, L1).
- West Brom are unbeaten in four Premier League trips to Leicester (W2, D2).
- Leicester have lost just one of five matches against the current bottom three clubs this season (W4, L1), keeping clean sheets in three of their four wins.
- Six of West Brom’s eight goals in their last two matches have come from Matheus Pereira and Callum Robinson, who have both netted three goals each.
- Brendan Rogers’ Foxes have lost their only previous home game refereed by Andy Madley this season, losing 3-0 to West Ham in October 2020.
Prediction
Having suffered consecutive defeats in their last two league games, Leicester can come into this match with renewed confidence after a dominant performance at Wembley but they will need to be clinical because they did let several close chances go begging.
West Brom meanwhile looked to have finally clicked in dynamics after delivering eight goals in their last two games, yet this will be a huge test because the enforced ten day break could have disrupted their momentum so a good start will be crucial here.
Sam Allardyce’s Baggies also have another Midlands derby to come on Sunday and with their survival hopes fading, this is definitely a must-win so I am expecting a good contest and wouldn’t be surprised if this fixture produces another four goal thriller.
Prediction: Leicester 2-2 WBA
Result: Leicester 3-0 WBA
