2020-21 Premier League: Week 15 – Wolves vs Tottenham

Wolves welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Molineux in Super Sunday Night Football as a quadruple header of Premier League football concludes.

Should West Ham lose earlier in the day, Wolves could go tenth with victory whereas Spurs look to go third with a win.

Leander Dendoncker is a doubt for Wolves after a knock kept him out of Monday’s defeat at Burnley.

Raul Jimenez (head) and Jonny (knee) remain sidelined indefinitely.

Tottenham could be without Gareth Bale after the Welshman suffered a calf injury during Wednesday’s Carabao Cup win at Stoke.

Japhet Tanganga (shoulder) and Giovani Lo Celso (muscle) remain absent.

Stat Attack

  • Wolves are unbeaten in three of their last five matches against Tottenham (W2, D1, L2).
  • Tottenham have scored at least twice in each of their last four trips to Molineux (W3, D1).
  • Spurs are yet to receive a red card in 12 Premier League meetings against Wolves.
  • No Wolves player has produced more fouls than Nelson Semedo and Leander Dendoncker, who had committed 19 fouls apiece.
  • Coming into this round of fixtures, no player has produced more assists than Spurs’ Harry Kane who created ten assists for his teammate.

Prediction

Wolves seem to have hit a rut this month which could be to do with Jimenez’s absence up front because they just seem to be wasting many chances despite often dominating games, which is a real worry given the potential of this team.

Tottenham disappointingly looked lethargic in their last league match because they seemed to lack their usual energy until they were two goals down, yet delivered a strong attacking display in midweek at Stoke to advance to the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

I am therefore unsure as to which team for both clubs will turn up here because both don’t exactly inspire me with much confidence based on recent performances, although Tottenham should win this given their recent form at Molineux.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Tottenham

Result: Wolves 1-1 Tottenham
