2020-21 Premier League: Week 13 – Leicester vs Everton

Leicester City welcome Everton to the King Power Stadium in a huge clash as the Foxes look to go top of the Premier League.

Victory could temporarily put Brendan Rogers’ Foxes top of the table before Liverpool meet Tottenham in Wednesday’s late blockbuster match, whereas Everton could rise to fifth if Chelsea fail to beat Wolves on Tuesday evening then West Ham don’t match their result in Wednesday’s late London Derby against Crystal Palace.

Timothy Castagne could return for Leicester after missing their last seven outings in all competitions with a hamstring injury.

Caglar Soyuncu (groin) is unlikely to be risked and is set to miss out alongside Jonny Evans (suspension), whilst Ricardo Pereira (groin) and Daniel Amartey (ankle) remain absent.

Everton could welcome James Rodriguez and Seamus Coleman back from calf and hamstring injuries respectively.

Jean-Phillipe Gbamin (fitness) is unlikely to be risked until fully match fit as Lucas Digne (ankle) plus Fabian Delph (hamstring) remain ruled out.

Prediction

Leicester were simply clinical against Brighton on Sunday from soaking up pressure to executing their chances with pure simplicity and if they can replicate that here, Everton will have a tough match on their hands although Jordan Pickford could be key to keeping a clean sheet if he is at his best again.

Speaking of the Toffees, they weren’t afraid to test Chelsea whenever they got the opportunity to do so on Saturday and luckily took the win from a well earned penalty. so I am expecting more of the same here.

This result could therefore come down to tactics because both teams possess great goalkeepers and we should see goals, although I can see Leicester getting the win because this is a great opportunity to stick their foot firmly into the title fight here.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Everton

Result: Leicester 0-2 Everton
