Stat Attack
- Wolves have taken four points from their last five Premier League meetings against Chelsea (W1, D1, L3).
- Chelsea have lost two of six previous Premier League trips to Molineux (W4, L2).
- Blues’ Mason Mount scored in both meetings against Wolves last season (W2).
- Wolves haven’t lost three consecutive league games since late October-November 2018 in their first season back in the top flight.
- No Chelsea defender has registered more shots on target this season than Kurt Zouma with seven shots upon goal, of which four were converted into goals.
Prediction
Wolves were unlucky to not walk away from Saturday’s entertaining encounter against Aston Villa because they were overall the better team but just lacked that finishing touch, which is a definite must in this game otherwise Chelsea will punish a series of missed chances.
Frank Lampard’s Blues however were simply outplayed at Everton despite producing another strong performance with Edouard Mendy at fault for the loss through his silly foul, which is something that they will come back from stronger heading into this encounter.
Either way, this should be a cracking match between two attacking teams because Wolves do need to start beating more of the bigger teams if want to boost their hopes of European qualification, whereas Chelsea can go top and ensure Saturday’s result was a blip but clinical finishing could well be decisive to the result here
Prediction: Wolves 0-1 Chelsea
Result: Wolves 2-1 Chelsea
