After a fortnight break, Formula One gathers at Silverstone for the 2020 British Grand Prix behind closed doors.

Reigning champion, Lewis Hamilton enters his home race leading the drivers’ championship by five points from Mercedes teammate – Valtteri Bottas who is still looking for his first win around here as Hamilton goes for a seventh victory.

Further down the field, McLaren’s Lando Norris and Williams’ George Russell will be hoping for home success for their British based constructors whilst Racing Point look to push for a podium at their home event.

Ferrari meanwhile look for further improvement after having a fortnight to evaluate a rough start to this season.

Three Key Pointers

  • Expect Mercedes to dominate around this circuit as been traditional in recent years with six wins from the last seven British GPs.
  • Braking will be key upon entry to Brooklands and Vale which could benefit Racing Point given their car performance in the opening three rounds in heavy braking corners.
  • Ferrari will be looking to maximise their cornering speed because they will certainly lose time on the three straights compared to their rivals, which was more apparent in Austria than Hungary.

  1. Everyone is really looking at what racing point can do. As they are the real challengers to Mercedes and Redbull especially.
