2019-20 Sky Bet Championship: Week 44 – Tuesday

West Bromwich Albion face a tough test of their automatic promotion credentials as they welcome Fulham to The Hawthorns.

A win for West Brom will put them six points clear of Brentford although they can go top with a two goal margin result, whilst Fulham will leapfrog the Bees into third if they take victory.

Ahmed Hegazi is available for West Brom after being named as an unused substitute in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Blackburn, having served an one match ban against Derby last week.

Nathan Ferguson (knee) and Kieran Gibbs (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Fulham have no fresh injury concerns as captain, Tom Cairney remains sidelined with a knock.

Stat Attack

  • West Brom are winless in their last eight matches against Fulham (D5, L3)
  • Fulham are unbeaten in their last three trips to The Hawthorns (W1, D2).
  • Each of last three meetings between these teams have resulted in 1-1 draws, with Fulham scoring first in each of those clashes.

Prediction

With just two rounds left, this is a must-win for West Brom if they want to control their own destiny, otherwise a Fulham win would open the door for Brentford to snatch second with a victory on Wednesday.

I therefore expect a competitive open match because both teams can play scrappy, especially Fulham who have won three of their last four games by one goal margins so am going for a score draw.

Prediction: WBA 1-1 Fulham

Result: WBA 0-0 Fulham
