Leeds United begun 2020 on top after a dramatic New Year round saw plenty of twists and turns as several teams now dangle between promotion and relegation placings.
West Bromwich Albion looked set to go back to the summit after Semi Ajayi put them ahead against Leeds, firing in from Kyle Bartley’s headed down pass during a second minute corner.
Ajayi however was instrumental in Leeds’ comeback goal to keep them top, deflecting Patrick Bamford’s 51st minute header from Jack Harrison’s cross into his own net, which meant that the Yorkshire outfit stayed top from West Brom on goal difference.

Ivan Cavaleiro’s curler wasn’t enough to prevent Fulham falling to a shock home defeat to Reading, who had initially led through John Swift and Charlie Adam.

Elsewhere, Nakhi Wells netted a hat-trick as QPR thrashed Cardiff 6-1 at Loftus Road, to record their biggest home win over the Bluebirds since December 1938.
Tyrese Campbell netted a brace as Stoke battered Huddersfield in a seven goal thriller to take a 5-2 victory.
Preston extended their winless run to four matches after falling to a 2-0 home loss against Middlesbrough, as Rudy Gestede scored his first goal since February 2018.
Finally, Jarrod Bowen’s strike was enough for Hull to beat Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
