Rangers welcome Porto to Ibrox for a huge Europa League showdown as both teams are locked on four points in Group G.
Victory here for either team could send them top if Feyenoord beats Young Boys in the other Group G game, whereas a draw coupled with a Feyenoord win would leave one point separating all four teams with two more rounds remaining.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesJordan Jones remains Rangers’ only absentee with a knee injury but otherwise, Steven Gerrard has a full squad available for selection.
Porto have no fresh injury concerns as they welcome back Moussa Marega after a muscle injury kept him out of their last three outings.
Stat Attack
- Rangers have lost just one of five previous meetings with Porto (W2, D2, L1), including two home wins at Ibrox.
- Porto have avoided defeat in just two away games against Scottish opposition (W2, L4).
- Rangers are unbeaten in their last three home games against Portuguese opposition (W1, D2).
Prediction
This is realistically an absolute must win for both teams, and especially Rangers who saw their knockout qualification hopes unravel at this stage last season which coincidentally was also Group G.
I therefore can see another open game between two top teams here but Porto have to find some magic against their bogey country, otherwise I can see Rangers taking their third home win over the Portuguese team.
Prediction: Rangers 2-1 Porto
Result: Rangers 2-0 Porto
