AIX Racing has been axed from F2’s team line-up for the 2027-29 seasons, and have been replaced by LN4 Fusion.
AIX Racing’s departure marks the end of their three-season spell in F2 across which they took five wins and nine further podium finishes, of which four of their five wins and eight of their nine podium finishes were delivered in their first two seasons by Paraguay’s Joshua Durksen.
AIX also finished ninth in the teams’ championships in 2024 & 25 largely thanked to Durksen’s ability to outdrive the car’s potential, but they have now lost their license to race in F2 across the 2027-29 seasons.
LN4 Fusion have been named as AIX’s racing in the category just like in F3, with F2 retaining the other ten teams: ART GP, Campos, DAMS, Hitech, Invicta Racing, MP Motorsport, PREMA, Rodin Motorsport, Trident and Van Amersfoort Racing.
F2 CEO, Bruno Michel has explained that there were numerous teams interested in joining the grid but felt that the ten retained teams had demonstrated commitment to young talents throughout their time in the category.
“We received strong interest from teams around the world for this new three-year cycle, underlining the strength and appeal of our Championship.
“We have retained ten of our current teams, who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to providing the best possible environment for young drivers to prepare for Formula 1.”
Michel added that he is excited to welcome LN4 Fusion with belief that they will become an invaluable contributor to the category’s future success.
“I am also pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the grid. They will bring considerable expertise, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution to the Championship.”
