Stat Attack
- This is the first ever European meeting between these sides.
- Manchester City have lost just five of their last 16 meetings with Spurs in all competitions (W11, D1, L4).
- Both teams have managed just one clean sheet each in last five meetings.
- Manchester City lost both legs at this stage against Liverpool last season in their only all English tie in European competitions.
- Tottenham haven’t advanced from their last five Quarter Final appearances in European competitions.
Prediction
Manchester City really need to step up their game here because their performance on Saturday seemed lethargic at times, with Brighton exposing holes in their midfield and defence.
Spurs meanwhile have had a week to prepare for this fixture so I am expecting them to test City’s defence a lot, especially early on.
A draw however would be a decent result for both teams from this leg, with more important domestic worries to deal with.
Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Manchester City
Result: Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Manchester City
