2018-19 Sky Bet Championship: Week 41 – Tuesday

After a shock defeat at Birmingham City on Saturday, Leeds have an instant chance to return to second as they visit Preston North End at Deepdale.

Preston will be without a host of first team regulars as Daniel Johnson joins the injury list with an Achilles injury.

Tom Barkhuizen, Billy Bodin and Josh Harrop are all sidelined with knee injuries, whilst Aaron Hughes is out with a hamstring injury.

Leeds could be without Pablo Hernandez after the Spaniard injured his ankle against the Brummies on Saturday.

Kemar Roofe could therefore be handed a start after missing the last two months with a knee injury and featured as a sub at the weekend.

Stat Attack

  • Preston are unbeaten in three of their last five meetings with Leeds (W2, D1, L2).
  • Both teams have scored in five of last six meetings at Deepdale.
  • Kemar Roofe has opened the scoring for Leeds on last two occasions at Deepdale.

Prediction

Both teams were unlucky to lose at the weekend after producing good fights so this should be a scrappy end to end game.

I am therefore going for a draw here because every point is key now and it’s hard to see either conceding twice.

Prediction: Preston North End 1-1 Leeds United

Result: Preston North End 0-2 Leeds United
