Huddersfield Town vs Southampton

Huddersfield return to Premier League action today, after last weekend’s victory over Newcastle United, and a midweek win over Rotherham in the Carabao Cup.

It’s Southampton who arrive at the John Smith’s today, to try and end the Terrier’s 100% record and will surely provide the toughest test so far for the Premier League new boys.

Both teams come into this game undefeated after the opening two fixtures of the season. Huddersfield sit second, with a 100% record while Southampton have a win and a draw.

This is a fixture that any Huddersfield fan would snap your hand off for a point, if you offered it to them now, and Southampton fans will expect the three points.

If Huddersfield maintain their 100% start, it will be the first time that they have won their opening trio of games since the 1924-25 First Division season. They went on to end up as champions that season so could history be about to repeat itself 93 years later?

I’m predicting a draw today, and that both sides will remain unbeaten.

I think that if the match was at St Mary’s then the Terriers would be up against it, but being at home in their current form and with over 20,000 fans getting behind them, they’ve got a real chance of getting another pleasing result.

Prediction: Huddersfield 1-1 Southampton

Jake predicts: Huddersfield 1-1 Southampton

James predicts: Huddersfield 2-0 Southampton

Result: Huddersfield 0-0 Southampton
