Defending Premier League champions, Arsenal host Everton in a massive encounter.
If Manchester City lose the lunchtime kick-off at Aston Villa, victory will move Arsenal level with the leaders on 21 points and possibly even go top if they win by a large enough margin.
Everton meanwhile can go as high as fourth with a win.
Team News
Bukayo Saka is ruled out for Arsenal after he suffered a quad injury during their 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich.
Piero Hincapie (ankle) could return but Christos Tzolis (hamstring) and William Saliba (back) remain absent.
Everton have no fresh injury concerns after their 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea last weekend.
When is Kick-Off?
Arsenal host Everton at Emirates Stadium on Saturday 24 October at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Arsenal are unbeaten in their last seven league meetings against Everton (W5, D2).
- Everton are winless in their last five visits to Arsenal (D1, L4).
- Arsenal have kept clean sheets in three of their last four home matches against Everton (W3, D1), except for a 2-1 win in May 2024.
- No Arsenal has produced more successful crosses in open play this season than Noni Madueke (6).
- Thierno Barry has created more touches in the opposition’s box than any other Everton player this season (35).
Prediction
As long as Man City remain unbeaten, Arsenal simply have to focus on their own league business so that they’re there ready to pounce once the Cityzens slip up and this is a nice home game after a difficult see-saw contest at Bayern deservedly ended in a point apiece.
Everton meanwhile were simply outplayed at home by Chelsea but this is a chance to reset and bring their usual top quality as often seen this season, yet the Emirates Stadium is one of their bogey grounds so this is a tough ask for them.
If there’s one positive for Everton then it’s that Arsenal are playing this game less than 72 hours after a physical encounter in Munich, but I still expect the Gunners to have the edge.
Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Everton
