2026-27 Sky Bet League Two: Week 12 – Barnet vs Swindon

Barnet continue their promotion hunt in a midweek League Two encounter against Swindon.

Victory would lift second-placed Barnet top if Salford lose at Bristol Rovers, whilst Swindon could move into the top 12 with a win if results elsewhere go in their favour.

Team News

Danny Collinge could be rested for Barnet despite having featured in the entirety of their 2-1 comeback at Tranmere, having needed treatment for a clash of heads late in the first half.

Idris Kanu could also be rested after he suffered a knock during that game, which eventually saw him substituted for Damola Ajayi in the 77th minute.

Romoney Crichlow-Noble isn’t expected to be involved after he suffered a serious facial injury in injury time at Prenton Park, which necessitated the removal of three teeth and stitches.

Swindon will welcome Dan Butler back after he sat out their 1-1 draw at home to Walsall due to a knock.

Danny Butterworth (hamstring), Paul Glatzel (knee), Sam Inwood (glute), Joel McGregor (ankle) and Ryan Tafazolli (toe) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Barnet host Swindon at The Hive on Tuesday 20 October at 7:45pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Barnet have won just three of eight previous league meetings against Swindon (W3, L5).
  • Swindon have lost just one of their four previous league visits to Barnet (W3, L1).
  • Barnet have conceded twice in each of their last three home matches against Swindon (L3), of which their last two clashes in North London ended in a 2-1 victory for the visitors.
  • Three of Kabongo Tshimanga’s seven league goals for Barnet this season have been scored at home.
  • Swindon are yet to score away from home this season in the league (D1, L4), during which they have conceded nine goals in their last four away trips.

Prediction

Having came from behind with second-half goals to win at Bristol Rovers then Tranmere in their last two matches, Barnet really need to cut out those sloppy first half performances as they can’t keep riding their luck – especially given their lack of clean sheets.

Swindon meanwhile haven’t hit the heights of last season because their defence has been poor and they’re on a six-match winless league run, but they still are on the cusp of the play-off spots despite sitting 18th and two points above the drop so this is a chance to break that rut with a statement win.

Barnet though are a much stronger team this time round compared to their previous meetings so I am expecting a good scrap, yet Swindon showed that they’re capable of grinding out a draw like they did at home to Walsall on Saturday but they ideally need to score first given their poor away form.

If Barnet get the first goal then I would expect them to go on and take a home win.

Prediction: Barnet 1-1 Swindon
