2026-27 Sky Bet Championship: Week 11 – Friday

Burnley look to boost their Championship survival chances against Wolves at Turf Moor.

Victory could lift Burnley as high as 16th in the table, whilst Wolves can climb to sixth with a win.

Team News

Burnley will be without both Zeki Amdouni and Anel Ahmedhodzic after the pair were substituted with an ankle injury and concussion respectively in their 2-2 draw against Charlton.

Jordan Beyer (thigh), Bashir Humphreys (muscle), Josh Cullen (knee), Hannibal Mejbri (hamstring) and Mike Tresor (ankle) remain absent.

Wolves will be without Adam Armstrong due to a back injury suffered in their 3-1 home defeat to Bolton.

Bertrand Traore (hamstring), Raul Jimenez (knee), Boubacar Traore (calf) and Rodrigo Gomes (ankle) are also sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Burnley host Wolves at Turf Moor on Friday 16 October at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Burnley have lost just one of their last 11 league meetings against Wolves (W5, D5, L1).
  • Wolves are winless in their last eight league visits to Burnley (D4, L4).
  • Burnley have kept just one clean sheet in their last five home matches against Wolves.
  • Jacob Bruun Larsen has scored in both of Burnley’s last two league matches (W1, D1).
  • Wolves are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive Championship defeats for the first time since a five-match losing run between February – March 2017.

Prediction

Having pulled themselves out of the relegation zone on goal difference after a 2-2 draw at home to Charlton, Burnley must take the confidence from that performance but cut out the defensive sloppiness in injury time because they actually could of won that game if had stayed focused until the final whistle.

Wolves meanwhile simply weren’t clinical in their sloppy defeat to Bolton and with a clear forward crisis now due to the absences of Armstrong, Jimenez and Traore, they really need other players to step up especially given that Turf Moor isn’t a happy hunting ground lately.

There definitely should be goals in this game but I do fancy Burnley to get that
