Van Amersfoort Racing have signed Yevan David for the 2027 FIA Formula Three season.
David’s move to Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) comes after a successful rookie season in 2026 at AIX Racing saw him finish 18th overall with five top-ten finishes, which included a second-placed podium finish at the British Sprint.
The 19-year-old Sri Lankan driver – born in Romford, London, UK, – is excited for his opportunity to stay in F3 as AIX Racing leave the series after LN4 Fusion brought their entry into the category.
“Stepping into VAR for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 season feels like the right move at the right time. The leadership team has a clear vision, proven experience and a competitive mindset that matches how I want to operate.
“I’m excited to learn from them, contribute to that culture and test myself against the strongest field in junior single‑seaters.
“The challenge is big, but so is the opportunity. I’m ready to work, grow and deliver everything I can throughout the 2027 season.”
VAR Team Principal, Brad Joyce is “pleased” to sign David who will partner Enzo Deligny and a third driver next season, believing that the youngster has the talent to build on his first season.
“He showed great potential in his first FIA Formula 3 season, with a strong second-place finish in the Silverstone Sprint Race. Joining the VAR team will give him a new environment for his second year, and our aim is to turn that experience into great results.
“We’re looking forward to getting to know him and working with him during the post-season test. This will be a good opportunity to prepare for the 2027 season.
