Keanu Al Azhari has joined Hitech for the 2027 FIA Formula Three season.
Al Azhari’s move sees the 19-year-old step up from Eurocup-3 where he won the Spanish Winter Series, and now sits third in the main series’ season with three wins.
Al Azhari will become the first Emirati driver in F3 and is pleased to make the step up with Hitech which will mark their third season together, after he first raced for the team in the 2025 GB3 campaign where he finished sixth overall with one victory.
“I am proud and honoured to continue my journey with my family at Hitech as we step up together into the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship.
“To become the first driver from the UAE to compete in FIA Formula 3 is a milestone I carry with immense pride. Representing my nation at this level is the greatest honour, and I’m humbled by the support of the UAE behind me.
“I hope this journey inspires the next generation of drivers across our region to dream without limits.”
Hitech’s F3 Team Manager, Paul Bellringer added that he is happy to see Al Azhari opt to stay with the team as he graduates into F3.
“It’s great to see Keanu making the step into FIA Formula 3 with us. We’ve worked closely with him over the last two seasons and have seen first-hand how much he has developed in that time.
“He has shown his speed with race wins and podiums, but one of his real strengths is his ability to race his way through the field. Even when a weekend hasn’t gone to plan or conditions are difficult, he finds a way to move forward and put himself in contention. That ability to make something out of challenging situations will serve him well in Formula 3.
“There’s something particularly rewarding about seeing a driver progress through the different levels of Hitech and reach F3 with us. Keanu knows how we work, we know what he is capable of, and we’re looking forward to continuing that progression together in 2027.”
Al Azhari previously enjoyed a strong karting career which included the 2020-21 IAME Series UEA – X30 Junior title, just a year after he finished as vice-champion in that category.
He then stepped up to single-seater racing in 2023 with a seventh-placed championship finish in F4 UAE before he finished ninth overall in Spanish F4, which was followed by his first single-seater victories as he won two races in the Trophy Round of the F4 UAE Championship.
2024 saw him finish third in F4 UAE followed a seventh-placed finish in the Formula Winter Series and vice-champion title in Spanish F4, across which he took seven victories in total then a further two wins in Prototype Cup Germany.
He then participated in the GT3 Winter Series at the start of 2025 and took wins in his two starts at Algarve, Portugal, before he went on to race in GB3 and Prototype Cup Germany.
